WAIT
  • 32 months on the market β€” a successor may be near
  • No real owner data yet β€” the verdict stays cautious
Great choice if these matter:
  • a second room
  • streaming
  • everyday viewing
Watch out for:
  • 270 nits is low; HDR here is decoded rather than shown at its brightest
  • A 60 Hz panel with 20 W on two channels

FAQ

The most common questions about this product

What the numbers on the spec sheet actually mean in day-to-day use.

Should you buy the TCL P655?
The Kacbu decision box currently says WAIT for the TCL P655: either the model has been on the market long enough that a successor may be near, or owner data is weak. The reasons are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Why does an entry set have HDMI 2.1?
Because the version describes the port, not the panel. TCL lists HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 on the same row with eARC, so a soundbar gets the return channel it wants. The panel is still 60 Hz, and nothing here will show 120 frames a second.
Is 270 nits enough?
For a room with the curtains drawn, yes. TCL states it as a typical figure rather than a peak, which is honest and low: bright daylight will wash this screen out, and HDR will look like a gently graded picture rather than a bright one.
Which market sells it?
TCL's global site carries the sheet, and names the Asia-Pacific region as the leading one. The code on this page is the one that sheet prints.
