Should you buy the TCL C845?
The Kacbu decision box currently says WAIT for the TCL C845: either the model has been on the market long enough that a successor may be near, or owner data is weak. The reasons are in the decision box at the top of this page.
2,000 nits or 800?
Both, on two rows. TCL states 2,000 cd/m² as the HDR peak and 800 cd/m² typical on full white. The peak is what a small highlight reaches in an HDR scene; the typical figure is the whole screen lit.
What is the energy class?
TCL's Turkish sheet states class B for this family — the best band of any television in this catalogue, and unusual for a Mini LED. It is on the sheet, and the table on this page carries it.
Is it the same as the C855?
No. The C855 of 2024 states 1,344 dimming zones, 3,300 nits peak, a 2.1.2 array with up-firing drivers and Wi-Fi 6. The C845 is the 2023 set below it: 2,000 nits, a 2.1 array, and no zone count published.
