Should you buy the Samsung OLED S93F?
The Kacbu decision box currently says CONSIDER for the Samsung OLED S93F: the specs hold up, but there are not yet enough real owner reports to strengthen the call. Pros, cautions and alternatives are in the decision box at the top of this page.
What does an OLED do that a Mini LED cannot?
Switch a single pixel off. Samsung fills the contrast row here with "self-illuminating pixels", which is the whole difference: there is no backlight to leak around a bright object, so a star on a night sky sits on black rather than on a faintly lit patch.
100 Hz or 144 Hz?
The panel is 100 Hz and it accepts up to 144 Hz. Samsung writes both in one row; Kacbu files 100 as the refresh rate and keeps 144 as what the inputs will take, so that a page ranking panels compares panels.
Is 83 inches the only size?
It is the only one Samsung publishes a sheet for in this catalogue's markets. The S93F sits beside the S90F and S95F in the same year, and where those are sold in more sizes they have their own pages here.
