FAQ

The most common questions about this product

What the numbers on the spec sheet actually mean in day-to-day use.

Should you buy the Samsung Neo QLED QN80F?
The Kacbu decision box currently says CONSIDER for the Samsung Neo QLED QN80F: the specs hold up, but there are not yet enough real owner reports to strengthen the call. Pros, cautions and alternatives are in the decision box at the top of this page.
How does it differ from the QN85F?
By the backlight's name and the sound. Samsung calls this one's control Quantum Matrix Technology Core and the QN85F's Quantum Mini LED Pro, and this one carries a four-channel array with 360 Audio where the QN85F has 2.2 channels. Both run the Neural Quantum 4K AI Gen2 processor on a 100 Hz panel.
What can the HDMI inputs take?
Samsung states 4K at 120 Hz with VRR, dynamic metadata for HDR10+ and auto low latency mode across the HDMI 2.1 inputs, with eARC on the second port. The panel's own rate is 100 Hz, which is what a page ranking panels should compare.
What does it cost to run?
Samsung's German sheet states 215 kWh a year on the EU measurement, 155 kWh per 1000 hours, and 0.5 W in standby. The class is F in standard range and G in high dynamic range β€” an 85 inch screen is a large light source however it is built.
