Should you buy the Samsung Neo QLED QN1EH?
The Kacbu decision box currently says CONSIDER for the Samsung Neo QLED QN1EH: the specs hold up, but there are not yet enough real owner reports to strengthen the call. Pros, cautions and alternatives are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Mini LED at 60 Hz — does that make sense?
It buys the backlight without the panel. Mini LED and Supreme Mini LED Dimming are about contrast and control of light in a bright room; the 60 Hz panel is what keeps the price down. If you are buying for a console at 120 frames a second, the QN70 line is where that starts.
How does it compare with the QN70F?
The QN70F has a 100 Hz panel that accepts up to 144 Hz, four HDMI inputs and FreeSync Premium Pro. The QN1EH has the Mini LED backlight and a better energy class, at 62 W in SDR against 260 W maximum on the QN70F.
Is 62 W the real consumption?
It is what Samsung states for standard dynamic range. The same sheet states 200 W in high dynamic range — HDR content drives the backlight far harder, and both figures are on the page.
