Should you buy the Samsung Crystal UHD U8000H?
The Kacbu decision box currently says CONSIDER for the Samsung Crystal UHD U8000H: the specs hold up, but there are not yet enough real owner reports to strengthen the call. Pros, cautions and alternatives are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Why does Germany have three different codes?
Samsung sells the 43-inch there as GU43U8099H, the 85-inch as GU85U8079H, and the rest of Europe sells the family as U8000H — UE43U8000H in Italy, UE65U8000H in the United Kingdom, UE85U8000H in Türkiye and UN85U8000H in Brazil. The specification rows match; the table on this page carries every code.
What does Crystal UHD mean?
It is Samsung's name for its plain LED line: a direct-lit panel with the Crystal Processor 4K and UHD Dimming, below the quantum dot of QLED and the Mini LED backlight of Neo QLED. The rows here are what the name buys.
Is 50 Hz enough?
For broadcast and streaming, yes — European broadcast is 50 Hz and film is 24. Samsung states variable refresh, which keeps a console from tearing, but the panel cannot show more than 50 frames a second.
