Should you buy the LG QNED70B?
The Kacbu decision box currently says CONSIDER for the LG QNED70B: the specs hold up, but there are not yet enough real owner reports to strengthen the call. Pros, cautions and alternatives are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Is a Mini LED backlight worth it at 60 Hz?
It is the row that separates this set from LG's UHD line, and it is a real one: a Mini LED array with Dynamic QNED Color certified for 100% colour volume. What LG does not state for it is a dimming technology, so the array's advantage is in brightness and colour rather than in switching off behind dark parts of the picture.
Can it play 4K at 120 frames?
No. LG states a 60 Hz panel, variable refresh to 60 Hz, and three HDMI inputs carrying eARC and ALLM without a 4K 120 Hz signal. In the same year's range the QNED87B is where 120 Hz and four HDMI 2.1 inputs begin — and even there the 43-inch is a 60 Hz set.
How does it differ from the QNED71B?
By the stand and nothing else Kacbu could find. Over the sheets the two badges share, what disagrees is the foot — 792 x 188 mm against 788 x 216 — and the 0.1 kg that follows from it. Panel, processor, ports, sound and platform are stated the same.
