What the numbers on the spec sheet actually mean in day-to-day use.

Should you buy the Hisense ULED U8N?
The Kacbu decision box currently says WAIT for the Hisense ULED U8N: either the model has been on the market long enough that a successor may be near, or owner data is weak. The reasons are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Is 3,000 nits the whole screen?
No. Hisense states 700 nits as the panel's brightness and 3,000 nits as its peak — what a small highlight in an HDR scene reaches. The 1,600-plus dimming zones are what let it push that hard without lifting the black around it.
U8N or U7N?
The U8N has more than 1,600 dimming zones against the U7N's 300-plus, 3,000 nits peak against 1,500, and a 20 W subwoofer. The U7N reaches 100 inches and starts at 55; the U8N is sold only at 65 and 75.
Which HDMI inputs take variable refresh?
HDMI 3 and 4, both at 144 Hz, with eARC on the third. HDMI 1 and 2 carry HDMI 2.1 with automatic low latency mode but no variable refresh.
