FAQ

The most common questions about this product

What the numbers on the spec sheet actually mean in day-to-day use.

Should you buy the Hisense ULED U7Q?
The Kacbu decision box currently says CONSIDER for the Hisense ULED U7Q: the specs hold up, but there are not yet enough real owner reports to strengthen the call. Pros, cautions and alternatives are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Which HDMI input should a console use?
The third or the fourth. Hisense states variable refresh to 144 Hz on those two and only 60 Hz on the first and second, so a PS5 or Xbox plugged into HDMI 1 loses its high-frame-rate modes. The third is also the one with eARC.
How is it different from the U8Q?
The U8Q runs at 165 Hz rather than 144, carries Wi-Fi 6E instead of Wi-Fi 5, and doubles the sound to 60 W. The U7Q answers with a fourth HDMI input and a lower price; local dimming, Dolby Vision IQ and the 7 ms input lag are on both.
Does it have local dimming?
Yes — Hisense states it on the sheet, along with a 5000:1 contrast ratio. It does not publish a dimming-zone count, so Kacbu records none.
