What the numbers on the spec sheet actually mean in day-to-day use.

Should you buy the Hisense QLED E7K?
The Kacbu decision box currently says WAIT for the Hisense QLED E7K: either the model has been on the market long enough that a successor may be near, or owner data is weak. The reasons are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Does HDMI 2.0 rule out console features?
Not the ones this panel can use. Hisense states auto low latency mode and variable refresh to 60 Hz on all three inputs, which is as far as a 60 Hz panel goes. What HDMI 2.0 rules out is 4K at 120 Hz, and nothing here would show it anyway.
Is 1200:1 low?
It is low for a set that carries Dolby Vision. Contrast is the gap between the deepest black and the brightest white the panel can hold at once, and without local dimming — which Hisense answers no to — that gap stays where the panel leaves it. In a dark room black will look grey.
What runs it?
VIDAA, Hisense's own system, with the Game Center among its apps, screen sharing and Wi-Fi 5. It is not Google TV and not Tizen, so the app shelf is the one Hisense curates.
