Google introduced the Tensor G6 with the Pixel 11 family as the engine for on-device Gemini.

Announced with the Pixel 11 series on August 12, 2026, the Tensor G6 is built on a 3nm process with a seven-core CPU: one Arm C1-Ultra at 4.1 GHz, four C1-Pro cores at 3.4 GHz and two more at 2.65 GHz, alongside a PowerVR CXTP GPU. As with previous Tensor generations, Google frames the chip around its TPU and on-device AI rather than benchmark performance.

Should you buy the Google Tensor G6?

What changed from the Tensor G5?
The G5 was Google's first chip built at TSMC, on 3nm. The G6 keeps that manufacturing and moves to Arm's newer C1 core generation, with a prime core at 4.1 GHz against the G5's 3.78 GHz Cortex-X4 β€” a clock and architecture step rather than a change of foundry.
Seven cores instead of eight β€” why?
