Can you game on the Radeon 890M without a discrete GPU?
Yes, more genuinely than any integrated graphics before it. Sixteen compute units paired with LPDDR5X-7500 memory handle current games at 1080p with reduced settings, and older or lighter titles comfortably. It will not replace a discrete RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, but it removes the need for one in a thin machine.
What does the 50 TOPS NPU actually do?
It runs AI features on the device instead of in the cloud: live translation, background effects in video calls, image generation and Windows Copilot+ features like Recall. Crossing Microsoft's 40 TOPS threshold is what makes those features available at all β€” below it they simply do not run.
