โ€œa pro camera you can actually shoot a job onโ€

TechRadar calls the 48MP three-camera array and 4K 120 ProRes RAW pipeline the most complete video package on a phone, while questioning whether the aluminium unibody reads as premium next to the outgoing titanium frame.

FAQ

The most common questions about this product

What the numbers on the spec sheet actually mean in day-to-day use.

Should you buy the iPhone 17 Pro?
The Kacbu decision box currently says CONSIDER for the iPhone 17 Pro: the specs hold up, but there are not yet enough real owner reports to strengthen the call. Pros, cautions and alternatives are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Does 3988 mAh last a full day?
In mixed use, yes: messaging, maps and a couple of hours of video ends the day around 25-30%. Long 4K recording or heavy gaming needs a top-up by the evening. Apple's quoted 31 hours of video playback is a lab figure measured at low screen brightness.
Is it good enough for gaming?
The A19 Pro runs current mobile titles at their highest settings. The real difference on this model is the vapor chamber: frame rates hold through long sessions instead of dropping the way earlier generations did. Wild Rift, PUBG and Genshin all stay steady for hours.
Is the 4x telephoto genuinely optical?
Yes. The 48MP telephoto sensor shoots optically at 100mm; 8x is a crop from the middle of that sensor, but because it starts at 48MP the output is still a 12MP file. Up to 8x the loss is close to invisible.
Does 204 grams feel heavy day to day?
It is heavy for a 6.3-inch body. Anyone using the phone one-handed for long stretches, or holding it above their face in bed, will notice. With a case it approaches 230 g โ€” worth handling one in a shop if you prefer light phones.
What difference does USB 3 make?
Wired transfer runs at 10 Gb/s. For photos the difference is small, but if you shoot ProRes a ten-minute clip offloads in seconds rather than minutes. On the standard iPhone 17 the same port is still USB 2 speed.
