Should you buy the Sony BRAVIA 9 II?
The Kacbu decision box currently says CONSIDER for the Sony BRAVIA 9 II: the specs hold up, but there are not yet enough real owner reports to strengthen the call. Pros, cautions and alternatives are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Which HDMI inputs take variable refresh?
Only the third and fourth — Sony states it as "Yes (for HDMI 3/4)", while auto low latency mode works on all four. The third is also the eARC input, so a soundbar and two consoles cannot all have what they want at once.
Is it really an RGB LED television?
That is Sony's own name for the backlight on this generation. The specification sheet under it states the display type as LCD and the dimming as local dimming, and publishes neither a zone count nor a peak brightness figure.
What does Studio Calibrated mean?
Sony ships picture modes built with Netflix, Prime Video and its own Sony Pictures Core, and the set can be measured and adjusted with CalMAN. It is the closest thing in this catalogue to a television that arrives calibrated.
