What the numbers on the spec sheet actually mean in day-to-day use.

Should you buy the Sony BRAVIA 5?
The Kacbu decision box currently says CONSIDER for the Sony BRAVIA 5: the specs hold up, but there are not yet enough real owner reports to strengthen the call. Pros, cautions and alternatives are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Is it a Mini LED television?
Sony's page is titled Mini LED, and the specification sheet under it states the display type as LCD with local dimming. Both are the maker's words; the page carries the title's name and the sheet's rows.
Which HDMI input should a console use?
The third or the fourth — Sony states variable refresh for those two only. The third is also the eARC input, so with a soundbar the console goes to the fourth.
How is it different from the BRAVIA 7 II?
The 7 II is the 2026 model with the same processor and platform; the BRAVIA 5 is the 2025 set below it. Sound is 40 W on both, and both stop at 120 Hz.
