What the numbers on the spec sheet actually mean in day-to-day use.

Should you buy the Hisense ULED E8S?
The Kacbu decision box currently says CONSIDER for the Hisense ULED E8S: the specs hold up, but there are not yet enough real owner reports to strengthen the call. Pros, cautions and alternatives are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Which HDMI input should a console use?
The third or the fourth. Hisense states variable refresh at 144 Hz on those two and states none at all on the first and second. The third also carries eARC, so with a soundbar and a console the fourth is the console's.
Is it a Mini LED television?
No. Hisense calls the series ULED, which is its name for the picture processing, and states the backlight as DLED on the sheet. Mini LED is what the U-series sets above it carry.
How is it different from the U7Q?
They share the 144 Hz panel and the Dolby Vision IQ pairing. The U7Q adds local dimming and a published 7 ms input lag; the E8S sits below it on price and keeps the same platform and the same four inputs.
