Should you buy the Redmi A7 Pro?

Who is this phone for?
Someone who needs a phone that lasts two days, takes a memory card, keeps a headphone jack and costs as little as possible. Every compromise — the LCD screen, the slow charging, the Unisoc chip — is in service of that price.
Is the 720p screen a problem?
It is the thing you notice most. At 254 ppi text is visibly softer than on the AMOLED phones a tier up, and the 800-nit peak makes bright sunlight difficult. The 120 Hz refresh rate does make scrolling feel smoother than older budget phones.
No NFC — what does that cost me?
No contactless payments from the phone. If you pay with your phone daily, this model rules itself out; every other Redmi in this catalogue supports NFC.
