Official Statement

What does Oppo say about the product?

A summary of Oppo's official product description.

Official Oppo source

Oppo positions the Find X9 Ultra as "your next camera" — a phone built to replace a dedicated camera, not just take photos.

Oppo unveiled the Find X9 Ultra globally on April 21, 2026, built around a Hasselblad-co-engineered quad camera with dual periscope telephoto lenses, a 7050mAh silicon-carbon battery and a camera-inspired design. Pete Lau, Oppo's SVP and Chief Product Officer, called it "the biggest breakthrough in OPPO imaging history."

“The true meaning of Ultra is not about having an ultra phone. It is about delivering an Ultra camera.”

Review — 4.7 / 5
“In isolation, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is an excellent piece of tech, albeit pricier than other Ultras. It's not just a great cameraphone, it's a great all-rounder, too.”

GSMArena rates the camera system, battery life and charging speed highly, calling it a genuine rival to the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Ultra, while noting video output is a bit soft compared to its excellent stills.

FAQ

The most common questions about this product

What the numbers on the spec sheet actually mean in day-to-day use.

Is the dual periscope telephoto actually useful, or is 10x zoom mostly gimmick?
It's genuinely useful — the 3x periscope handles everyday portrait and food-photography zoom, while the 10x periscope gives real optical reach, not just a marketing number. Reviewers rank it among the best zoom setups on any phone.
Is 235g too heavy for everyday carry?
It's on the heavier side of 2026 flagships, closer to a compact camera in hand than a typical phone. If you already find Ultra-tier phones like the Galaxy S26 Ultra or Xiaomi 15 Ultra a bit much, this one won't feel lighter.
Why does the video quality lag behind the photo quality?
Oppo's computational pipeline is tuned hardest for stills — Hasselblad Master Mode and the color science are built around photography first. Video is still competent, but reviewers consistently find it softer in detail than the class-leading photo output.
