Should you buy the Samsung OLED S90H?
The Kacbu decision box currently says CONSIDER for the Samsung OLED S90H: the specs hold up, but there are not yet enough real owner reports to strengthen the call. Pros, cautions and alternatives are in the decision box at the top of this page.
Is 165 Hz useful on a television?
For a console, no: a PS5 or Xbox outputs at most 4K 120 Hz. For a PC with a capable graphics card, yes: Samsung states 4K at 165 Hz on HDMI 1 to 4 and lists G-Sync compatibility, so a PC drives it like a large monitor.
Is the S90H a QD-OLED?
Samsung's pages do not say. The company ships both QD-OLED and WOLED panels within a series depending on the size, and only says "OLED", so Kacbu lists the panel as OLED and leaves the sub-type empty rather than guessing.
What does the S95 add over this?
On Samsung's own sheets: the glare-free matte coating, the 4.2.2-channel 70 W sound, the One Connect box and an 11 mm panel. The panel speed, the HDMI 2.1 inputs and the smart platform are the same.
