Should I buy it?

Intel Core 7 150U
CONSIDER
    Great choice if these matter:
    • Mainstream laptops where peak clock speed matters more than platform age
    • Everyday office and study work with long battery life
    • Buyers who check the code name rather than the model number
    Watch out for:
    • The name hides the generation: this is 13th-generation Raptor Lake silicon, not a newer design
    • No NPU — anything expecting Intel AI Boost will not find one here
    Regret riskLOWlimited data
    Main risks
    • The name hides the generation: this is 13th-generation Raptor Lake silicon, not a newer design
    • No NPU — anything expecting Intel AI Boost will not find one here
    • Intel calls the graphics simply "Intel Graphics" rather than Iris Xe, despite the same 96 EUs
    • Intel 7 lithography is behind the Intel 3 and TSMC 3nm parts sold alongside it
The risk level is computed from the release date and verified weaknesses. The confidence score appears only once enough owner reports exist.
This box relies only on verified specs, the release date and editorial assessment; owner reports join them as they come in. We do not predict prices.

    Editorial Analysis

    Strengths and points to consider

The Kacbu editors' assessment of the specifications the maker publishes. We do not test devices ourselves, so nothing here is a measured result. Anything taken from an independent review is shown with its publication and date in the Press section.

    Strengths based on the specs
5.4 GHz peak is the highest of any 15 W Raptor Lake U-series part
Ten cores and 12 threads at 15 W handle everyday multitasking well
96 execution units is the full graphics configuration, more than the 80-EU i5 parts
A mature, well-understood platform with predictable behaviour and wide driver support
    Things to consider
The name hides the generation: this is 13th-generation Raptor Lake silicon, not a newer design
No NPU — anything expecting Intel AI Boost will not find one here
Intel calls the graphics simply "Intel Graphics" rather than Iris Xe, despite the same 96 EUs
Intel 7 lithography is behind the Intel 3 and TSMC 3nm parts sold alongside it
    Historical Product Info

    Official launch details

Instead of tracking today's retail price, Kacbu keeps the product's official launch information as a reference.

Intel designs its CPUs in the US and fabs Intel 7 parts in its own plants. Kacbu lists a fabrication country only when the company documents it for the specific part.

This is not the current retail price — it shows the product's historical, official launch information.

    FAQ

The most common questions about this product

What the numbers on the spec sheet actually mean in day-to-day use.

Is the Core 7 150U a new generation?
No. Intel's own specification page gives its code name as "products formerly Raptor Lake" — the same silicon as the 13th-generation U-series, with the same Intel 7 lithography, FCBGA1744 package and memory support. Only the branding is new.
Why does it have no generation number?
It belongs to Intel's "Core" Series 1 naming, introduced alongside Core Ultra. Chips without the Ultra prefix carry no NPU and, in this case, no new architecture either.
Does the Core 7 150U have an NPU?
No. Its specification page has no NPU section at all, which is the clearest way to tell a Core part from a Core Ultra one.
How does it compare to the Core i5-1334U?
Same architecture, same lithography, same package. The 150U adds two hundred megahertz of peak clock and the full 96-EU graphics against the i5's 80. They are siblings, not generations apart.
