1 Phones model on Kacbu ships with OIS (main + periscope + ultra wide) Camera Features, from OnePlus. Compare its specifications and see what sets it apart.
OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) counters hand shake with hardware: the lens inside the camera module is shifted in the opposite direction within milliseconds, guided by motion sensors. That is what separates it from software stabilization — nothing is cropped, and the shake is physically cancelled before the light ever reaches the sensor.
In daily use it matters most in two places: photos in dim light and video shot while walking. When light drops, the phone has to keep the shutter open longer; OIS absorbs the hand shake across that longer exposure, which is why night shots come out visibly sharper.
The value on this page says stabilization is present on three lenses: the main camera, the periscope telephoto and the ultra-wide. A periscope is the telephoto type that fits a long focal length into a phone by folding the light path through a prism; the highest zoom levels live there, which makes it the lens where OIS works hardest.
